Indigo Workshop with Cathy Wilkerson

Take the workshop that BOSTON MAGAZINE called one of ""The Can't-Miss Events""!! Learn the basics of Indigo dyeing by exploring a variety of techniques. You will create a set of 4 hand-dyed cotton napkins. Traditional shibori, resist, and pole-dyeing techniques will be included with hands-on help. The fee includes all materials needed. Additional materials will be available for purchase to dye. NO PREVIOUS SKILLS NECESSARY. Come have fun, get messy, explore and see what you can do! Please bring a bagged lunch.

The Indigo Squirrel (aka Cathy Wilkerson) has a passion for dying with indigo. She can often be found leaning over a vat with blue fingers, fabric in hand. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Textile Design and has been a teacher in the CE department there for more than a decade. A buyer and merchandiser in the home furnishings industry for almost three decades, Cathy has developed product with leading textiles manufacturers in Europe, India and the US. She is also the Territory Sales Manager for a large global window treatment manufacturer. In her spare time, Cathy loves to sew, knit, and weave.
