A Look Behind the “Curtain”: A Fashion and Textile Tour of PEM's James B. and Mary Lou Hawkes Collection Center Facility

Join Petra Slinkard, Director of Curatorial Affairs and the Nancy B. Putnam Curator of Fashion & Textiles; Dan Lipcan, the Ann C. Pingree Director of the Phillips Library, and Angela Segalla, Director of the Collection Center and Collection Stewardship for special behind-the-scenes tours for Gather 2025 symposium participants at the museum’s collection storage facility.

These custom tours will include viewing of selected highlights from the museum’s fashion and textiles collection in storage and the Phillips Library’s rich holding of rare books, manuscripts, and other materials related to textiles, fashion, and fiber.

This tour takes place on two levels. The first floor level is wheelchair accessible; a portion of the tour on the upper level is only accessible via a staircase with 3 steps. Museum staff will accompany all tours for this event. Please contact the museum for details.

Tour size: 24 people maximum
Fee: $25 per person
